Proofreading for Court Reporters
Errors jump out at me everywhere. It always surprises me to find mistakes in professional printed material. Everyone needs a proofreader! Let me use my eye for detail to polish up your transcripts. I’m committed to making your work look its best.
I completed Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice, a course developed by Caitlin Pyle, and proofed over 3,000 pages of transcripts. This training is based on Morson’s Guide for Court Reporters and the NCRA guidelines. I also use Bad Grammar, Good Punctuation; The Gregg Reference Manual; and The Merriam-Webster Dictionary along with Google to proof transcripts.
Since beginning work in 2017, I have worked on thousands of depositions, examinations under oath, arbitrations, and several trials, including patent, tobacco, asbestos, and criminal trials.
I will focus on your preferences, readability, and consistency. I read every word and use a checklist and my references to accurately proof your work. I’m looking to build relationships with court reporters here in Western New York and across the country. I’ll provide an extra set of eyes to spot errors and make your transcripts excellent!
I am flexible and love to learn! I will do my best to learn your preferences and fine-tune my proofreading skills to your needs. Connect with me on LinkedIn or email me at proofreading@deniseminge.com.
